►Susanna Hoffs Under the Covers 2

Thursday, April 23, 2009

In 2006, Susanna Hoffs fom the band, The Bangles, teamed with longtime friend and fellow 60s music enthusiast, Matthew Sweet, to record an album of covers from their favourite 60s tunes. Three years later, they have joined talents once again to record Under the Covers 2, which will pay homage to the music of the 70s. It will be released on July 21 2009.

Here is a sneak peek at the proposed track listing and the original artists who performed the songs.

1. Sugar Magnolia (The Grateful Dead)
2. Go All The Way (The Raspberries)
3. Second Hand News (Fleetwood Mac)
4. Bell Bottom Blues (Derek & The Dominoes)

6. You’re So Vain (Carly Simon)

The first album was an instant success with selections ranging from Hoffs tender Who Knows Where The Time Goes (Fairport Convention) and Different Drum (The Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt), Sweet's sprightly The Kids Are Alright (The Who) and his gentle The Warmth Of The Sun (The Beach Boys), and the awesomely rocking duet Cinnamon Girl (Neil Young & Crazy Horse).
